Nothing much at the Christmas Wonderland, but it was really very crowded, super jam! Last but not least, my Little Santa nephew will like to wish everyone a Belated Merry Christmas and Happy 2016! Apologies the greeting comes a little late because his Aunt was busy going out celebrating Christmas.
I have found another nice wanton noodles stall other than the famous Lavender Kok Kee Wanton Mee featured here and Koung's Wan Tan Mee featured in Sharon's blog here . It is Hoe Kee Wanton Noodles. I didn't take a picture of the Wanton Noodles because I was too hungry and I gobbled down the whole plate, I promised I will take a picture the next time when I am not so hungry. I like the char siew, the wanton and also the sauce of the noodles, everything about the noodles, and it costed only S$3.00. The address is: #01-22, Blk 117 Aljunied Ave 2, Aljunied Ave 2 Market and Food Centre. But I did take a picture of the stall after eating. Here it is: Click on the image to see a larger picture
I have a friend who asked me to join him for a movie, the movie is Ip Man 3, as I have not been to the cinema for many months and I don't really fancy fiction movies and action movies nowadays so I turned him down. Is that a sign of old age? Last time I used to like thriller movies etc. Now really lose interest in going for movies. But if any of you going for the movie Ip Man 3, I don't mind reading the review about the movie. I guess no more movies for me or rather lesser movies for me, hee...I am more interested in karaoke though...
I can't believe it, my relative said right into my face: "The brand of the water heater you bought for me, it seems like I have not heard of that brand before." Gosh, how could she be so outright straightforward. Too much. That's it, I tell myself, no more second time, this will be the last time I buy a gift for her, so unappreciative! By the way, good news is my check up results is good, no high cholesterol, no diabetes. My LDL cholesterol level is 2.78 (desirable level is between 2.60 and 3.30) LDL cholesterol can build up on the walls of your arteries and increase your chances of getting heart disease. That is why LDL cholesterol is known as bad cholesterol. My HDL cholesterol level is 1.07 (desirable level is more than 1.00) HDL cholesterol protects against heart disease by taking the bad cholesterol out of your blood and keeping it from building up in your arteries. My Triglycerides level is 0.87 (desirable level is less than 1.70) Triglycerides are
Because I have a relative who is moving house recently, so I bought a water heater for her as a house warming gift. After giving the gift to her, she asked is the brand from China or Malaysia, she said China or Malaysia water heater are not reliable and she prefer brands from US or Japan or Europe. She said China or Malaysia water heaters may have electric shock if the product is not reliable. She asked for the receipt from me and said maybe she will top up a bit to get a better product so I gave her the receipt. Inside my heart I was thinking, "Why she like that one? What I bought for her also not bad wah, even though it may not be the most expensive one." It is the thought that counts. How would you feel if you were me? Sometimes it is not easy getting gifts for people as in the end they may not like what you give them. I feel a little bit hurt because it seems she doesn't appreciate what I give her and even doubt the product. But on the other hand I console myself
Grill Fish with Italian Herbs and Mashed Potatoes (S$6.50) I usually will take this when I don't know what to eat. Nowadays I cut down on chicken cutlet which was once my favourite as chicken cutlet is more heaty. How about you? Do you like your western food to be chicken chop, lamb chop, chicken cutlet, fish and chips or grill fish?
Let the pictures do the talking, Sakae Sushi is one of my fav haunts for sushi fix. Ebi mentai sushi (Prawn sushi with codfish roe) California Maki Crabstick sushi The Ebi mentai sushi was heavenly with its codfish roe, there is also chawanmushi, fried tofu, egg mayo gunkan (egg mayo on sushi rice) which I did not take a picture.

I got nominated by Bluedreamer for the Versatile Blogger Award. Actually I have tag myself before for this award in the past here , so here I will repeat 7 facts about myself (with some modification): 1) I miss my past life very much. 2) I don't eat fruits 3) I love wearing jeans. 4) I used to join many activities during school time such as Choir, Athletics and Chinese Orchestra. 5) I love daydreaming 6) I have not been to the movies/cinema for months. 7) I am not a shopaholic and I shop rather cautiously these days. I will not tag anyone this time because this award has been around for quite some time. I will like to thank Bluedreamer for nominating me.
I opened my mailbox just now and guess what I received? A postcard all the way from Tokyo Japan! and the sender is nonetheless Anay TM. It is indeed a pleasant surprise! So sweet of Anay, still think of us, his blogger friends, when he was away for holiday in Tokyo Japan. Anay, you can read my mind is it? I was thinking to myself just a while ago, that I have not received anything from blogger friends recently, not that I am greedy, but I am always glad to receive something from my blogger friends, it does not have to be something expensive, even if it is just a card, it can warm my heart and make me happy for the whole day. While I was thinking about this, I immediately received the postcard in my mailbox from Anay today. Thanks Anay TM, it is so sweet of you and the postcard has pictures of Buddha which I like very much. And to show my appreciation, I have frame up the postcard in a photo frame and display it in my house. P/S I am correct hor, Anay is TM and Thambee is
This was my supper that night. No ingredients but just peanuts. Have not had Nuo Mi Fan for a long time, usually I don't eat Nuo Mi Fan because I find the rice hard to chew. Some people have them as breakfast. It is also know as “sweet rice”, mochi rice, or sticky rice.

I once blogged about my student's Science Test result here. Her Final Exam results is out. I teach her English and Science, overall she got Band 1 for her Science and Band 3 for her English (Band 1 being the best score). Her English results has improved overall from 50 plus marks in SA1 to 75/100 in SA2. Her overall results were pulled down by her SA1 results, that is why she got Band 3, I have not started to teach her when she was in her SA1, but still she has improved.
My dad was a silent and quiet man and he usually don't talk much. Over the years, he did not teach me many things and lessons verbally, but through his example, behaviour and character, I had learned a few things and values on how to be a better person. These are the few things: (1) Patience is a virtue. My dad was a patient man, he never lose his temper or shout at anyone. He was one of the good men on earth that is almost extinct. I feel that I am fortunate and lucky to inherit this trait from him which is why I am into teaching now. Teaching needs a lot of patience. (2) Silence is golden. Whenever someone quarrel or has an argument with him, he will always be the one who remained silent. Some people feel that we should voice up and talk back to make our stand but some people during quarrel and argument won't listen to anything that you say, so I learned that silence is golden. As long as you don't talk back, a quarrel won't start and the person will eventuall
Japan Green Last time when I was a kid, I don't like to eat vegetables because I thought it would taste like eating the leaves on the tree and that would be very bitter, now I simply love to eat vegetables because it is good for health. This is my supper tonight, Japan green with white porridge. This vegetable is pretty new to me, as I normally only know vegetables like Xiao Bai Cai, Kailan, Broccoli and so on. Have you heard of Japan green before? By the way, weekend is around the corner, have a good weekend everyone!
Went down to People's Park Centre on Sunday 6pm to enquire about the Batam Tour, the price for 3 Days 2 Nights is S$79 (2D) + S$45 (Extension 1D with breakfast) so it is S$124, after adding the tax of S$28 and tipping of S$2, it will be S$154, we also bought insurance at S$8. The grand total would be S$162. The package tour includes Indonesia Buffet Lunch, City Tour and a 60 minutes massage. As the agency is closing early, so we have to go back on Monday to pay for our tour. After enquiring, we went to the food court nearby to have our dinner and after that we went Daiso for shopping. I bought one lipstick, one lip gloss, one foldable mirror, a notebook, a container to put condensed milk and a packet of two kitchen sponges. Total damage S$12. The foldable mirror looks like this.
Had been enquiring about the Batam tour and I Hotel Baloi Batam is one of the hotels under our consideration. Here are some photos and a video of the hotel to share. There is a karaoke lounge inside the hotel which I like. My buddy Jose is taking block leave end of the year so we are planning for a short trip in December. We intend to go Batam, most probably for the seafood and just relaxing. The joy in travelling I find is in the anticipation and planning. It seems year end is the time to travel, more expensive though, TM has gone to Tokyo and where is Chris planning to go? However, I read in the news there were some bombings in Bali and Batam during Christmas Eve years ago so I am a bit skeptical about it, must give some thoughts to it. Any of you planning a trip end of the year, do share with me, I would love to hear from you. Here are some photos of the resorts in Batam to share with you.
One of my friends ever commented, "Life is already so bitter, why eat bitter gourd?" Haha. Bitter gourd is a known remedy for curing various skin diseases and skin infections, such as eczema. Due to its hypoglycemic action, bitter gourd makes an excellent remedy for diabetes. The insulin-like peptides, alkaloids, and charantin combine to lower blood and urine sugar levels without increasing blood insulin levels. There are many other health benefits of bitter gourd which can be found here . I personally don't mind bitter gourd. I just had bitter gourd bee hoon soup today but didn't take a picture. How about you? Life is bitter, think twice, haha.
Was down with fever, headache, cough and throat infection for the past few days which explained my "short hiatus" from my blog. Now I am recovering and back to my momentum again so just drop by to say Hi to everyone and have a good week ahead! Cheers!
Home cooked broccoli, value (priceless). One main benefit of broccoli - fight cancer. By the way, was trying to teach my Primary 2 girl English grammar, her foundation is really very weak, I taught her it is "their" bags not "they" bags, she asked me why leh why leh, I attempt to explain to her in Chinese because "their" is 他 们 的 whereas "they" is 他 们 so "they" bags is wrong. Of course, I cannot tell her don't ask why. Don't you agree, sometimes the children will ask us questions that we don't know how to answer, muahaha! Have a good week ahead, everyone!
Saw this on Facebook and thought of sharing it here, it is so true, whenever I run into my schoolmates and their families, I feel very happy, to see them happily married and living a blissful life (but of course, sometimes they may have their problems just that we don't know but overall they overcome their obstacles and are still surviving). I am not jealous of their success and I never think of competing with them. Don't you think it is so nice to see your friends doing well? Just sharing some of my thoughts. Sunday is around the corner, have a happy Sunday!
The topic of tattoo has been blogged about in SK's blog here. I have some more thoughts about tattoo, would you relate someone with tattoo to being a bad guy or gangster? In the past when tattoos are not common, we tend to think of those with tattoo as triad member or gangster or "bad guy" but nowadays tattoo are so common as even the ladies have tattoo on them. The same goes for smoking. In the past when we see girls who smoke, we tend to have bad impression of them and think that they are "bad girls" or girls with indecent professions but nowadays more and more ladies are smoking so it is not something new to us. But of course, there are still people who don't have good impression of tattoo and smoking. Don't you think so?
This looks delicious but it is another thing in actual fact. Bought this Taiwan Green Tea Cake from Yue Hwa at S$3.90, when I tasted it, I was kind of disappointed, the filling was not rich enough and it was not sweet enough. I have a sweet tooth so I would prefer it to be sweeter. I was deceived by the packaging.
Arranged to meet up with Jose at Orchard MRT before proceeding to the food court for our dinner. I had Indonesian grilled chicken rice whereas Jose had grilled fish. After finishing our rice, Jose ordered Kopi-C whereas I had my Banana Juice (yum yum!). After that, we proceeded to ION for our shopping. We went to H & M, Factorie, Uniqlo, Pull & Bear, Bershka and so on. I only bought two pairs of slippers at 2 pairs for S$10. We went to Kinokuniya Bookshop at around 8.30pm but we did not buy any book this time. After that, we went to Mac for a drink and ended our day of outing around 10.30pm. It is always enjoyable to go out with my buddy Jose.
Of the three modes of banking, which one do you usually or often use? (1) ATM machine (2) Internet banking (3) Mobile banking Call me jakun, I only just activated my internet banking recently and find it very convenient being able to check my account balances and transfer money using my computer online. I still have not activated my mobile banking as I am quite skeptical about the safety of mobile banking. Of course if I need to deposit money into my account, I still need the physical machine to deposit cash into my account. With internet banking, I am able to cut queues and check my account details and transactions in the comfort of my home. But of course, the biggest pitfall of internet banking is the possibility of hacker. One convenient function of the ATM machine is I am able to top up my transport fare card using the machine. That saves me the trouble of going to the MRT station to top up my MRT fare card. How about you? Which mode of banking do you prefer and why
Was hooked on Cruel Romance recently which explained my absence from my blog recently, also because I have nothing much to post. This is the synopsis from Dramawiki: Adapted from a Republican-era novel called "The Fate of Jinxiu", Cruel Romance tells the story of Rong Jinxiu ( Chen Qiao En ), a country girl who travels to Shanghai in order to discover why her entire family was killed. Along the way, she meets triad leader Zuo Zhen ( Huang Xiao Ming ), and after a series of accidents and misunderstandings, the two fall in love. Also vying for Jinxiu's attention is businessman Xiang Yingdong, a businessman and close friend of Zuo Zhen. Ever protective of his woman, however, Zuo Zhen refuses to let other men even come close to Jinxiu – which ultimately pays off when a villainous Japanese man tries to finish off Jinxiu and her remaining family members. Have you seen this drama before? I like the lead actor Huang Xiao Ming in the show, he is so cool and handsome, but do
I read in the papers that the haze is going to stay until November, oh gosh, another two months, I wonder is my recent heart problem anything to do with the haze, of course, it is not easy to identify a direct relationship and connection between my heart problem and the haze partly because I did not experience any breathing problem. I have relatives and mother of my student offering me masks during the haze out of concern, this is the kind of "help each other" spirit during this kind of situation.
Hi all, thanks for concern, I just went to A and E (Emergency Department) at the hospital at night for check up, done two times ECG and my blood test, doctor could not detect anything abnormal though I don't feel well, heart rate according to doctor was normal. When I tested at home, my heart rate was 101 beats, in the hospital my heart rate was about 90 beats. A normal resting heart rate for adults ranges from 60 to 100 beats a minute. The doctor gave me some medication for heart disorder, hope I will be alright after taking them, once again, thanks all for concern, and have a good week ahead.
Have been experiencing fast heart beat since Wednesday and I felt pretty uncomfortable as my heart seems to beat faster than normal beat. However, as I have tuition until Friday, I can only go see doctor on Friday, as I do not wish to skip my tuition or change my tuition lesson. I heard heart attack is hereditary, so I am rather afraid that there is a possibility of heart attack, as I felt uncomfortable with this fast heart beat, it is no longer blissful for me as I cannot enjoy every moment with this condition. Hope Friday faster come so I can go see doc.
I suggested going JB again, but my friend asked me with the recent yellow and red shirt rally, is JB safe to visit now? I am not so sure of that, but one thing for sure, to play safe, avoid wearing yellow or red shirt...
(1) Client wants to look for a Science tutor for her P3 son, I managed to source one for her, it is once a week, 1.5 hours per lesson, commission was S$75 (50% of S$150). (2) Same client wants to look for a Chinese tutor for her P3 son, I managed to source one for her, it is once a week, 2 hours per lesson, commission was S$100 (50% of S$200). Also, one of my students got full marks for her Science Test Booklet A and for Booklet B, she got 8.5 out of 10. Happy for her! That's all for the update for now, cheers!
The Chinese Seventh month is over tonight, I can go swimming again, to play safe, I avoided swimming during the seventh month. But wait, with the haze, can I still go swimming, if I inhale, will I be inhaling the air with impurities and dust. My uncle who is a taxi driver says his business is affected because more people are staying indoors and not going out. Haiz. I miss the clear blue sky and my swimming.
1. Health Health is the absence of illness, when you give yourself a score for your health, be sure to take into account what a Western doctor might measure such as weight, blood pressure, cholesterol etc. 2. Relationships This includes your relationships with family, relatives, friends and colleagues. 3. Career It is the extent to which you think what you do is interesting, enjoyable and fulfilling. 4. Finances The pursuit of money (or dealing with an absence of it) seems to occupy an incredible amount of nearly everyone's time. But of course, it is important to maintain a balance between pursuing money and pursuing a meaningful and happy life. 5. Happiness Happiness means different things to different people. So, on a scale of 1 (worst) to 10 (best), how would you scale yourself in these 5 key areas of your life?

The Tuesday that just passed was my student's birthday, so I went Daiso to buy some gifts for her. These are what I got for her, excluding the White Hair Concealer. The "monkey" notebook was very colourful and the monkey looks so cheerful that's why I bought it. The other gift is a pencil case. Hope she likes them.

Some people take chocolates as a form of comfort food, as for me, my comfort food is Banana Juice or another name for it, Banana Milk Shake, I simply love the creamy, sweet and rich taste of this juice. Bananas help overcome depression due to high levels of tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin, the happy-mood brain neurotransmitter. How about you? What is your comfort food?
Took a shuttle bus from Bayfront MRT to both Cloud Forest and Flower Dome. It costs $2 for 2 rides. After visiting the Supertrees at Gardens By the Bay during the Jubilee Weekend, me and Jose decided to visit Cloud Forest and Flower Dome today. Both are known as the cooled conservatories. As Jose has NTUC Plus card, so we got a S$2 discount per ticket so the ticket price comes out to be S$18 per ticket. Ok, now let the pictures do the talking. At the entrance to Cloud Forest, you could see the waterfall Totem Totem On top of the Cloud Forest, the view up here is breathtaking, I used my eyes to "snap" many pictures Look like rollercoaster Feel like you are in Genting?
