Enlightenment day of Guan Yin 观音诞

As today (19th of the 6th lunar month) is the Enlightenment Day of Guan Yin, I had vegetarian food also.

This is what I had, vegetarian pig kidney with green vegetables (S$6), with a bowl of white rice (S$0.50).

I like the taste of the vegetarian pig kidney but of course green vegetables are also important because that is where the nutrients come from.

Does the vegetarian kidney and the real kidney look alike?

By the way, my health recently isn't very good, whenever I am sick, it will take me at least two to three weeks to recover, unlike last time, I will recover within two days. And even if I recover fully, after a while, I become sick again, haiz.

I search on the Internet for foods that boost the Immune System. Yogurt is one of them. Probiotics, found in yogurt and other fermented products, may ease the severity of colds. Look for labels that say "live and active cultures."

Other than Yogurt, Pomegranate Juice also helps to boost the Immune System. The ancient Egyptians were on to something when they used this colorful fruit to treat infections. So far, most modern research has focused on pomegranate extract, but the juice shows promise: It may help your body fight bacteria and several kinds of viruses, including the flu.
Indeed like TM said, health is wealth. This Saturday I am going to Loyang Tua Pek Kong Temple to pray for good health. I will bring along offerings such as oranges and Huat Kueh (Prosperity Cake).

I will eat the green vegetables but not the kidney. I am not a fan of both real or vegetarian kidneys. I have 2 pomegranate trees in my garden and I am waiting for them to fruit. Hope your good health will be restored soon.

I like the greens vegetarian, but not the imitation of meat or animal internal organs. I rarely eat all these kidney/organs stuff, so sometimes I have no idea how the real thing looks like (unless shown in the picture).

Mun: Thanks

Nancy: So nice you can grow your own pomegranate trees so you can have fresh pomegranate juice anytime

Nux: The mock meat or organ has no nutritional value at all, it is just for the taste, it is the green vegetables that are important

Huat kueh. I used to love and eat it as a child. Still do but hardly buy and eat it nowadays.
