Never thought I'd be the one posting something like this but I want everyone to know!
It's 10.20pm and I'm on my way home from my appointment on the MRT, circle line. I walk to a priority seat as it was empty and I politely asked this ridiculous prick standing right in front of the seat, to excuse me, so I can sit down.
He pointed at the reserved seating sign and stared at me wide eyed.. I said yes, I am pregnant. HE ASKED ME FOR PROOF!?!?!?
I said who the hell are you to ask me for proof? Do you want to see my medical bills? My baby's ultrasound pics??
He replied that I'm not in pregnant wear.

WOW I didn't know I had to look pregnant to be entitled to this seat.
He then told me to shut up and sit down.
I told him he was crazy and that I'm wasting my time even talking to him.
He sticked out his tongue at me and mocked that I'm going through pre natal stress. Furious and Shaking, I screamed at him to F OFF. and he pointed fake guns (his fingers) at my face and walked off.
I'm so glad I took his picture right in his face and he gave me the permission to post it.
Nobody should have to go through what I went through, that's why I'm sharing this.
Fight for your rights people!

The above incident happened to a girlfriend whom I knew.

On the other hand, because I have a tummy, there are times when people mistook that I am pregnant and want to give up their seat to me, there are many times where I would just shake my head and tell them I don't need the seat, they will then look at my tummy again and feel puzzled. I feel so embarrassed. I told my friends and sisters about this and they told me to just sit down so I won't feel embarrassed.

Looking at the above incident that happened to my girlfriend, how if I sit down and the person wants proof that I am pregnant when I am actually not pregnant, my sis said just show them my tummy LOL.

It seems there are more and more of this kind of people there these days, the Ugly Singaporean rearing its ugly head - read of such things ever so often in the news all the time now. I wonder if that is due to the work pressures and life there in general...or because the old guy has died, and hell has broken loose...or are the immigrants?

Oh, cannot sit if not pregnant? I would definitely sit if vacant unless a pregnant lady comes up or elderly or those who need it...

I agree with Claire. anyone can sit in those seats. Just stand up when a person who needs it more approaches the seat.

I don't know whether to laugh or be angry but his behaviour was lunatic and crazy!! This is funny because he asked for proof while your tummy fooled others!! Wakakaka
