Kazokutei @ Bugis Junction

Had enough of curry chicken rice, so this time when I went Bugis Junction, I walked around to see what I want to eat. Then I find myself walking into Kazokutei Japanese Restaurant. This is what I had, Duck Wappa Gohan with Mini Fried Chicken (S$14.90). I also ordered a Houji Tea (cold) at S$1.00. The Mini Fried Chicken is very nice, crispy outside and juicy inside, well, I always like Fried Chicken anytime. I also enjoyed the Chawanmushi. But I find the rice too little, so I got hungry shortly after that.

The next time I come, I will like to try the Chicken Wappa Gohan with mixed tempura.

Can you identify the fake food from the real food, the fake food looks so real!

By the way, I don't know what does the word Wappa mean, google for it but can't seem to find the meaning.

I like to eat Japanese food so your food looks delicious to me! I found this info: Wappameshi (わっぱ飯, wappameshi) is Japanese dish cooked in special round containers (called wappa) made of thin wooden sheets.

You can read more about wappameshi in wiki. Maybe it is the same as your wappa.

Yes. Those fake food in display looks so real.

Your wappa looks so much for 1 person. You can finish them all?

Interesting. I didn't think Japanese cuisine has these bamboo containers cooking style in it.

I have not tried this restaurant yet. I always have to visit Bugis Junction when I was in Singapore. It is a lively and happening area.

If you didn't mention, I wouldn't be able to differentiate the fake and the real food. I love smoked duck!

Duck Wappa looks good! Fake food looks equally good. Haha.

Rose: It may look a lot, but in actual fact, the rice only fills half the wooden container so not really a lot

TM: Yes, Bugis Junction is one of the most happening places and very centralized
