Flea market

Me and my buddy are thinking of renting a booth to sell our preloved items such as second hand clothes, bags, used books, CD, DVD and so on.

These are the two locations we are looking at:

(1) Teck Ghee Zone H Residents Committee
Event: Let’s Flea @ Teck Ghee Horizon
Date: 10 Jan 2016 – 11 Dec 2016
Time: 7.00am to 7.00pm
Venue: Void Deck of Ang Mo Kio Ave 10, Singapore 560475
Booth Rental: $15.00 (2 Tables & 2 Chairs will be Provided)

(2) Fleawhere
Date: 9 Jul 2016 – 10 Jul 2016
Time: 1.00pm to 9.00pm
Venue: Capitol Piazza (Outdoor Plaza) 11 Stamford Rd, Singapore 178884
Booth Rental: $60 (1 day) and $100 (weekends)

We are interested in the first one at Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 because the rental rate is very cheap at S$15.

As for the second one at City Hall, Capitol Piazza, we are attracted by its central and easily accessible location. However for this location, we are only allowed to sell brand new products.

We are still waiting for the reply email for the Ang Mo Kio location.

There are a few things we need to think of, such as transport, pricing, what items to sell and so on. I reckon it would be quite fun trying out a flea market rental booth. We can also polish up our communication and promotion skills.

This will be the second time we are trying out a flea market, the first attempt was many years ago and that time we only managed to break even without any profit.

How about you? Have you ever thought of renting a booth to sell your preloved and second hand items? Do share with me, I would love to hear from you.

Nowadays people sell pre loved items using the apps Carousell which is very popular. If renting a booth can just break even with the expenses, then better to just sell online.

Mun: However got a physical booth, the customers can touch, feel and see the products, unlike online App where there are only photos, I have tried Carousell before, response was not very good

Preloved? Is that a fancy name for "used goods"? If it is, I don't like that term, it is like calling a spade a Harry Potter's magic wand. :/

I love flea markets. You never know what you can find there.

Hmm. Never thought of selling stuff in flea market before although I did jokingly told hubby that we may need to sell his dvd collection and books in a garage sale one day if we are to move house. Lol.

Quite a good idea to sell off your used items. For me, I just put in a bag and the rubbish man will take away.

Flea markets are the best. I love visiting them and it is also loads of fun to be the seller. I have sold my craft and party items at the local bazaar before and it was fun. Hope you will have an enjoyable time and make lots of sales :)
