My autistic student

I have an autistic student, he is the second autistic student I had taught. I always sympathize with their parents, not easy for their parents to raise an autistic child. My heart goes out to his mum and dad, it is not easy seeing their child struggle like this, it breaks their heart and leaves them feeling helpless. To encourage my student, whenever he answers my questions correctly, I would clap my hands and says "excellent" to him. Sometimes he will get angry and frustrated if he does not know the answer to a certain question, I would say to him: "It is alright, slowly, try your best." It needs great patience to teach autistic children because they are slow to respond and sometimes they will throw tantrums. But I see this as a challenge to me.

It is a big challenge for parents with autism. Some more the society's perception on them making it hard.

But most autistic children is clever.

Bravo to you for being there for them and show patience and care.

I have 2 colleagues who have autistic child....I'm quite amazed with them coz they can juggle between work and their autistic kid...Besides, schooling fees is not cheap for these special kids.

God will bless you always. I have no patience & luck to give tuition when I have been dreaming to tutor the kids for the good money here.
